Project: New Deck. TimberTech decking with painted white banister and railing.
Location: Phinney Ridge, Seattle.
Sub-Decking built using 6 cement pillars w/ 6×6 posts. The two sets of three posts each carry a 6×8 beam. Underneath the decking and carried by the 6×8 beams are 2X10 joists. This project was built with attention to the size of the house and its relationship with the deck. We designed for 6×6 posts underneath and within the railing to translate the house’s dimensions into the framing of the deck. The white-wood fascia and railing accent the house’s existing trim.
Beneath the deck we installed washed river rock framed within a border of 1/8″ x 6″cold-pressed metal edging.
